Eminem and Rihanna‘s “Love the Way You Lie” is one of the most important songs of Slim Shady’s career and RihRih’s. Like many blockbusters, it inspired a sequel, but that sequel got little attention. Here’s a look at one of the most underrated songs in both artist’s catalogs and why it languishes in obscurity.

The sequel to Eminem and Rihanna’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’ fixes the original

“Love the Way You Lie” is a song about domestic violence. The tune heavily favors a male perspective, with Eminem getting many more lines than Rihanna, who merely sings the chorus. Discussing a subject like this while putting women in the background is a questionable choice at best.

“Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” fixes that problem. While the first song was an Eminem song with Rihanna as a guest vocalist, the sequel is a Rihanna song with an Eminem verse. The second track is much slower, sadder, and more personal. While “Love the Way You Lie” is a song for the radio, “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” is a perfect song to listen to if you like having a good cry once in a while.

According to the Toronto Sun, Rihanna told MTV News in 2010 that she was opposed to recording a sequel. “When I first heard the idea about doing a part two, I was just completely against it,” the “Don’t Stop the Music” singer recalled. “I just felt like you couldn’t beat the original. There’s no way you can outdo that, so why compete with it?”

Rihanna embraced the song, recording both a version with Eminem and a solo piano version. “We heard a broken-down version that was stripped down, just piano … I fell in love with it,” the “Rude Boy” star added. “We recorded it, then we did another version to the stripped-down version with drums, then we did another version with drums and Eminem. And then that was the one that just felt really good. I love both: I love the broken-down version, as well as the new one with Eminem.”

How ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and its sequel performed

The original version topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a whopping seven weeks, staying on the chart for 29 weeks in total. “Love the Way You Lie” appeared on Eminem’s album Recovery. That album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for seven weeks, lasting on the chart for 322 weeks in total. Recovery remains one of Eminem’s most popular records, possibly because it has some pop crossover appeal.

“Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100. The tune appeared on Rihanna’s album Loud. Frankly, it’s odd that the two songs aren’t on the same album. Loud reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spent 78 weeks on the chart. While Loud produced several hits, including “What’s My Name?,” “Only Girl (In the World),” “S&M,” and “Cheers (Drink to That),” it’s generally not considered Rihanna’s best album because its lyrics are all over the place. “Love the Way You Lie (Part II),” “What’s My Name?,” and “Cheers (Drink to That)” are all good songs, but they don’t have anything to do with each other, either musically or thematically.

While “Love the Way You Lie” has been widely praised, “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” remains one of the most underrated sequels in music history.

Lip-reading expert shares what King Charles said when Queen Camilla struggled with her raincoat

Being stuck in a downpour is no fun for anyone and for the king, it tested his patience. Not only did he and his wife have to stand in the torrential rain and watch the parade, but Camilla was having trouble holding her umbrella and pulling her raincoat on, which had been draped over her shoulders.

According to lip reader Jacqui Press, as she struggled the king told her: “Move your arm through the back.”

Press told the Daily Mail when that didn’t work, the monarch turned to their aides on hand and demanded that one of them: “Come and help her!”

Body language expert says Charles likes raincoats as much as leaky pens

After the incident, body language and behavioral expert Judi James compared the incident to Charles’ infamous outburst over a leaky pen while signing documents in September 2022.

Days after Queen Elizabeth II’s death, Charles and Camilla were at Hillsborough Castle when the king accidentally signed the wrong date on a document. Upon realizing his mistake, Charles noticed that some ink from the fountain pen he was writing with transferred onto his palm. He quickly stood up and voiced his frustrations about the pen saying, “God, I hate this!”

The king’s temper continued to flare as he wiped his hand and angrily exclaimed, “I can’t bear this bloody thing! It’s what they do every stinking time!” before he disappeared from view.

Commenting on his “impatience” while Camilla tried to get her trench coat on, James told the Mirror: “Stuck with only one arm in a sleeve, Charles turned to help but only after performing a jaw-jut that signaled some frustration and growing irritation. His impatient-looking tugging of her sleeve only made things worse and, like his episodes with the pens, he seems to look behind in a state of tetchiness to get someone else from their staff to do the job instead.

“Poor Camilla is finally heaved into the coat but it’s a while before she can regain her pose and composure again and get back into her regal role.”

Jennifer Garner has worn iconic looks through the years, especially for the characters she played. However, when it comes to her personal style, she prefers to keep it simple. Garner told Today that she swears by daily sunscreen to keep her skin looking fresh and young.

“You can’t uncook; you can’t ask your skin cells to forget what’s done,” she said. “What’s hard about your 20s and 30s is that the sun damage that you’re doing shows up when you’re older. King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s relationship has changed, and their body language at the State Opening of Parliament said it all. According to a body language expert, the two did something of a role reversal at the July 17, 2024, event in London, England.

Queen Camilla didn’t take a ‘backseat’ at the State Opening of Parliament

According to body language expert Judi James, King Charles and Queen Camilla, decked out in royal finery, hinted their relationship had changed at the opening of Parliament.

“The body language between Charles and Camilla has evolved and changed a little since his illness and that change was reflected here today,” she told Mirror.

Buckingham Palace revealed King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer in a Feb. 5, 2024, announcement, a month before Kate Middleton shared her own diagnosis. The king’s treatment, as well as the Princess of Wales’s, is ongoing.

Usually, James explained, Queen Camilla, whose birthday fell on the same day as the ceremony (she turned 77), stays in the background. However, at the opening of Parliament, that wasn’t the case.

“Camilla used to tend to take a backseat role on formal occasions, often looking riddled with signals of inner anxiety and taking her cues from her husband’s behaviour [sic] and movements,” James said.

“Now, though, she seems to have grown in terms of an air of confidence, authority, and an ability to take a lead at times. She appeared here to be quite happy to greet the crowds with her own royal waves rather than waiting for Charles to wave first, then mirroring him.”

“It was Charles showing some micro signals of inner anxiety today, sucking his lips in after his first announcement and fiddling with his robes after he sat down,” James continued.

“Camilla, by contrast, was able to sit very still, looking quite calm beside him,” she continued, noting how she didn’t fidget, leaving her hands in the same position, and “projecting a calm solidity.”

Queen Camilla’s occasional glances at King Charles throughout the ceremony suggested “concern for him rather than announcing her own inner anxiety.” Furthermore, she appeared “quietly determined to ensure he doesn’t overdo things.”

The king was still in charge at the Parliament opening

While Queen Camilla might’ve checked in on her husband after he delivered his speech with a “caring, nurturing glance of concern” as he prepared to stand, but, James said, King Charles was still the one in charge.

“It was clearly still Charles in command when it came to the ceremonial choreography,” she said, noting he even signaled to the queen to move ahead of him.

“His right hand flapped a little to show Camilla she should walk down the steps first,” she added. “And as he passed her on the way out, he fondly touched her hip with one hand to remind her he was going round past her to take the lead.”

Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.” Stanton has also analyzed several members of the royal family and observed a change in Camilla since she became queen, revealing that she “asserts herself with strength and fearlessness” during public events.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Live Casino, Stanton said: “Camilla wants to prove her significance as the queen. She wears these white ethereal, angel-like clothes and she always feels a lot of joy when she’s carrying out her responsibilities as queen. All of her gestures are genuine and demonstrate pure joy and happiness.

He continued: “Since becoming queen, I have not seen many instances of Camilla displaying fake emotions when she’s representing the family — whether that is independently or as a team. If she was putting on a brave face, she would be displaying disingenuous smiles or cleverly distracting herself — which would show us a less confident side of her.

“Instead, Camilla seems to have an abundance of resilience in everything she is faced with as queen. She always has her hands by her side, which shows she’s authoritative and confident in her role as queen. Stanton added that while Camilla “doesn’t depend” on King Charles, she is definitely his “rock.”

The expert explained that “Camilla is seen as a very important member of the royal family. She is Charles’ closest confidante, rock, and a great figure for the royals to follow. It’s clear from when she is interacting and being out and about with various members of the royal family, she is highly respected.

“This is demonstrated through the likes of Prince William and Princess Anne reciprocating her body gestures and letting her take the lead from time to time. This tells us they’re feeling comfortable and at ease with her being in control. Camilla shows no signs of nervousness or feeling out of place, and that proves she’s confident to show up whenever duty calls.”

While they fell back in love in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022, all signs point to divorce in 2024.

Lopez and Affleck reportedly no longer live together. The couple owns a $60 million Beverly Hills mansion, but Affleck has lived in a $100,000 monthly rental for months.

“Ben continues to live at the Brentwood rental. He’s been there for about two months now,” a source told People. “He seems OK. He’s been at his office every day and seems focused on work. He’s also spending time with his kids.”

In July 2024, the couple publicly listed the mansion for sale. Another source told People that Affleck moved his belongings out of the Beverly Hills home while Lopez spent time in Europe in June 2024. An insider told In Touch Weekly that Affleck feels “anxious” about where he and Lopez stand after Lopez allegedly threw a “huge fit” about him moving his things.

“Ben never expected J. Lo to embrace his decision to leave,” the source said, according to Yahoo. “He knew it would be tough for her, but the more time that’s gone on, the more fearful he’s gotten about how she’s going to react once it’s officially done. The way she’s insisted on them wearing their rings and doing all this damage control, to her huge fit over him moving his stuff out, has got him really anxious.”

The insider added that Lopez wants Affleck to continue to wear his wedding ring until they finalize their divorce.

A celebrity realtor says the couple wants to sell their home as soon as possible

Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles realtor Josh Flagg told People that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck publicly listing their Beverly Hills mansion must mean they want to sell it as quickly as possible. They bought the property for $60,850,000 in May 2023 and listed it for $68 million. Because the selling price is “relatively close to what they paid for it,” the couple likely “really want[s] to move the property.”

Flagg added that Lopez and Affleck likely won’t make much money from the sale. They might even “take a small loss.”

“Generally, people do not sell their primary residence a year after they buy it unless there is a divorce, a death, or some kind of desperation,” he said.

‘Claim to Fame’ Producers Share How Celebrity Relatives Are Selected for the Show

Can you guess the celebrity relative? ABC’s Claim to Fame challenges participants – and viewers – to discover the identity of cast members’ famous kin.

Each contestant must use clues scattered around their shared house to ferret out other players’ star relatives. At the same time, they must keep their own identities a secret while also completing challenges that could win them immunity from elimination.

Past Claim to Fame participants have included KeKe Palmer’s sister Loreal Chanel Palmer, who won season 1, and Nick Cannon’s brother Gabriel Ezra Cannon, who bested the competition in season 2. Other contestants have included the sister of Olympian Simone Biles, Donny Osmond’s lookalike son, and – infamously – Tom Hanks’ niece.

So, what does it take to get cast on Claim to Fame? It turns out, just having a celebrity connection isn’t enough.

Is Madonna your third cousin twice removed? That might be a fun fact to share at parties, but it’s not enough to get you the attention of Claim to Fame producers.

“Distant or far-removed relatives (such as second cousins and beyond) are not considered,” Claim to Fame executive producers Eric Detwiler and Scott Teti told People in 2023.

All prospective Claim to Fame cast members should be closely related to a celebrity, usually by blood. That typically means having a famous parent or grandparent, sibling, aunt or uncle, or cousin. However, sometimes, someone who is related to a celeb by marriage is cast. That was the cast with Carly from season 2, who was related to Hanks through her aunt Rita Wilson.

While a close celebrity connection is key, that person doesn’t have to be living. For example, Pepper Martin from season 1 is the granddaughter of Rat Pack icon Dean Martin, who died in 1995.

Prospective contestants must complete a lengthy application

Having a close relative who is a celebrity is just the first step to getting onto the show. The Claim to Fame casting application asks prospective contestants dozens of questions, many related to their relationship with the celebrity, including:

“Describe your relationship with your celebrity relative. How close are you? How often do you see each other?”
“Tell us about the best memory you have with your famous family member.”
“Have you ever tried to pursue the same or similar career as your famous family member?”
“How is your personality similar or different from that of your famous relative?”

‘Claim to Fame’ producers also seek out participants

People can apply to be on Claim to Fame. But producers also proactively seek out potential contestants in order to assemble a group with a diverse array of celeb connections (and to avoid any chance of cast members having crossed paths outside of the show).

There are “different buckets that we’re interested in,” Detwiler told Parade. “We know we’re going to need some actors and some musicians and some athletes and wouldn’t it be great to have a historical figure or a political figure or an author? What’s some kind of wild card category and then we might get specific with her. Wouldn’t it be great to have the relative of a former U.S. president?”

“[F]rom there we do some pretty direct research, trying to dig in to find out who those people are and who might have a willingness to participate in the show and who might have the best personality to be on the show,” he said.

All cast members are required to pass a background check

As with most reality shows, people who make it through the initial screening process must pass a background check to make sure they’re a good fit for TV.

“Once the pool of potential contestants are whittled down by producers, the lucky individuals who are selected to advance in the casting process must clear background checks, as well as both medical and psychological evaluations by licensed medical providers, before they are permitted to film,” Detwiler and Teti explained to People.

Claim to Fame Season 3 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Harry and Meghan decided back in 2019 that they were going to transition out of the royal family. The two spent six weeks in Canada over the holiday season with their son, Prince Archie, and when they arrived back, they announced their plans to build a different kind of life in the United States. Since then, neither has fully found their footing; Meghan had a Spotify deal go bad, and Harry has focused on his Invictus Games but has not done much in the way of true business ventures. And one royal expert recently commented on how “tough” Harry’s “sacrifice” must have been.

“I think we can say that it must be tough for Harry to have lost touch with virtually all his old circle of friends as well as his family,” royal expert Jennie Bond told Ok! Magazine UK, via Express. “But we must assume that he feels that sacrifice is worth it for the life he now has with the woman he loves and the children he adores.”

Still, not everyone agrees. Express also reports that royal expert Tom Quinn says Harry is “bored” and has lost those friends — including military pals and school friends — because “Meghan is difficult.”

Harry and Meghan have had a mixed bag of good and bad ever since settling down in Montecito, California. While the two certainly have some close friends who have remained at their side, as well as Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, the couple remain a controversial topic in the US. Not everyone agrees with their decision to profit off of bashing the royal family, and it seems that some of their business ventures have not panned out in the way they expected.

Meghan is currently in the midst of filming a cooking show while also launching a lifestyle brand called American Riviera Orchard. Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star Amber Portwood’s engagement to Gary Wayt is officially over. Last month, Portwood reported Wayt missing after he drove away from a cabin they were sharing in North Carolina and did not return. Wayt was later located safe and sound several states away, but the relationship did not survive.

Neither Portwood nor Wayt have spoken out about their relationship since the disappearance. Now, a family member has stepped forward to insist Wayt planned his retreat weeks in advance.

Gary Wayt reportedly planned to exit his relationship with Portwood in a rush

Gary Wayt and Amber Portwood traveled together in June to celebrate a family wedding in North Carolina. Somewhere along the way, Wayt and Portwood got into a heated discussion about their relationship and Wayt took off. His disappearance set off a days-long hunt for the Indiana native. While he turned up safe, little else is known about Wayt’s current life and what led up to him taking off until now.

An insider who connected with TeenMomFanz, an Instagram account dedicated to the MTV franchise, said Wayt had planned an exit from his relationship with Portwood weeks in advance. They stopped short of admitting he intended to leave Portwood stranded in North Carolina. Still, they did say Wayt secured an apartment away from Indiana before he took the trip with his then-fiance.

The insider, who identified themself as a family member of Wayt, said that the relationship had turned toxic. Apparently, the romance was no longer good for Wayt’s mental health. They went on to insist the couple had been fighting in the weeks leading up to the wedding and that Portwood had gotten in Wayt’s face. They said they were unaware if any physical violence had occurred in the relationship. Reportedly, Wayt planned his hasty exit because he was afraid of how Portwood would take the breakup.

Where was Gary Wayt found?

Gary Wayt disappeared from North Carolina in early June. While Wayt is originally from Indiana, the 41-year-old didn’t head directly back to his home state after leaving the cabin he was sharing with Portwood. While a search was underway for Wayt in North Carolina, he headed to New Mexico before turning up in Oklahoma. He later contacted Bryson City police and confirmed that he was fine and did not wish to be contacted further.

The Bryson City Police Department issued a statement that Wayt had been confirmed safe, but they did not offer additional details. It is still unclear what Wayt was doing in Oklahoma or why he opted to travel to the state. The insider, however, insists he is living outside of Indiana now. One has to wonder if he set up a home base in one of the two states he traveled to after leaving North Carolina.

ABC Sets Premiere Date for Joan Vassos’ ‘Golden Bachelorette’ Season

The Golden Bachelorette is ready to step into the spotlight. ABC has announced a premiere date for the first season of The Golden Bachelorette, which will follow new leading lady Joan Vassos as she searches for love.

‘The Golden Bachelorette’ premieres Sept. 18

Vassos’ season of The Golden Bachelorette premieres Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes will stream the next day on Hulu.

In May, ABC announced Vassos, a contestant on Gerry Turner’s inaugural season of The Golden Bachelor, as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette. Although Vassos had a spark with Turner during their one-on-one date, she opted to leave the show in week three because of a medical issue involving her daughter, who had recently given birth.

”It wasn’t a normal, everyday delivery at all. Things go wrong. Even if everything went right, you need your mom,” Vassos explained at the time. “My family will always be first. Once you become a mom, you’re always a mom, even when your kids are older. Nothing is more important.”

While Joan’s Golden Bachelor journey ended prematurely, she hasn’t given up on the idea of finding love later in life, leading to her decision to return as the Golden Bachelorette.

Who is Joan Vassos?

Vassos is a 61-year-old school administrator from Rockville, Maryland. She’s a widow, having lost her beloved husband after 32 years of marriage to pancreatic cancer in 2021. Vassos is also a mom of four and grandmother to three, and family is all-important to her. She enjoys the music of Elton John, cooking, and spending time with her dog.

Turner is confident that Vassos will have an amazing time as The Golden Bachelorette.

“Congratulations on being named the first-ever Golden Bachelorette,” Turner wrote in an Instagram post. “You will be phenomenal as the new representative of a generation. From one Golden to another … relax, breathe, and enjoy.”

Turner’s own Golden Bachelor season culminated with his televised wedding to Theresa Nist. But their whirlwind romance was short-lived. In April, the couple announced they were divorcing after just three months of marriage.

One reason for Gerry and Theresa’s split? The couple, who lived in different states, had trouble figuring out how to merge their lives once married. Vassos has already said that she has no intention of moving away from her family.

“I think you almost have to live a dual life,” she told CNN. “I’ll never leave my family. They are the most important people in the world to me obviously, and I would expect that to be the same for the person that I end up with because family is so important to me, that would have to be a key part of their personality.”

“You have to be willing to … travel and be with that person and maybe spend a couple of months or a couple of weeks at a time … and then maybe eventually, you figure out a destination that would work for you and your families or have another house where everybody gets together,” she said.
