The search for Amber Portwood’s fiance, Gary Wayt, has been called off. The Indiana native has been located safe in Oklahoma after disappearing late last week. While Wayt appears to be just fine, the week’s drama has caught the attention of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter fans. Farrah Abraham was keeping up with the coverage, too. Before Wayt’s whereabouts were announced, Abraham took to Instagram to take a swipe at her former co-star.

Amber Portwood reported Gary Wayt missing

Amber Portwood reported her fiance, Gary Wayt, missing on June 11 in North Carolina. According to official reports, Portwood last saw Wayt on the evening of June 9. She admitted the couple had an “emotional” conversation before Wayt departed the area with his wallet and car but not his cell phone.

Portwood and Wayt, who met in 2023, were in Bryson City, North Carolina, to celebrate a wedding with Portwood’s family. They arrived in the area late last week and were set to return to Indiana together before Wayt disappeared. Portwood is said to have been distraught over Wayt’s sudden departure and was concerned because he had not contacted his family.

Farrah Abraham poked fun at the disappearance

Apparently, there is no love lost between Amber Portwood and Farrah Abraham. While some Teen Mom stars have supported Amber during a difficult time, Abraham is not one of them. Yesterday, Abraham took to her Instagram stories to share photos with her partner during a vacation. Vacation snapshots weren’t the only posts she uploaded, though. She took the time to make a joke at Portwood’s expense.

Abraham shared a news clipping about Wayt’s disappearance and captioned the post, “How do I get out of an engagement…go missing…” The clip also included a comment from Gary Shirley, Amber Portwood’s first fiance and the father of her daughter, Leah Shirley. The story has since expired.

Gary Wayt has been found safe

While Wayt has not spoken publicly, he appears to have been found safe and sound. Bryson City police recently revealed that Gary Wayt and his vehicle were confirmed to be in Oklahoma. He was seen at a Verizon store in the state. Police did not reveal if he purchased a new phone, but the Indiana native left his phone behind when he fled the cabin he shared with Portwood on June 9.

Earlier in the day, Us Weekly reported that the Bryson City police department would only close the case if they spoke to Wayt directly. They have since closed the case, suggesting they’ve spoken with Wayt and decided he is safe and well. They have not shared any additional information. What we do know is that he has been busy traveling in the days since he left North Carolina, though. He was also allegedly seen in New Mexico, a 1600-mile trek from where he was reported missing. Portwood has not issued a statement yet.

Amber Portwood is having a very difficult week. The Teen Mom The Next Chapter star is reportedly distraught after her partner, Gary Wayt, disappeared during a planned trip to North Carolina. Portwood appeared at a Bryson City, North Carolina, police station on June 11 to report her partner missing. According to reports, Wayt went missing from a cabin he was sharing with Portwood on June 9. Now we know why Portwood and Wayt were in North Carolina.

Initially, it was unclear why Portwood and Wayt had traveled to North Carolina, but now the events of the weekend are coming into sharper focus. According to WLOS News, Portwood and Wayt were in the Bryson City, North Carolina, area late last week for the wedding of Amber Portwood’s brother, Shawn Portwood Jr.

Portwood and her brother, who she often referred to as “Bubby,” were incredibly close during the early seasons of Teen Mom OG, but he has not appeared on the show in some time. Shawn Portwood Jr. reportedly lives in Florida, while Amber Portwood resides in Indiana. It is unclear why he and his bride opted to marry in North Carolina, but the scenic region is known for its romantic mountain views.

As of press time, Wayt has yet to resurface. He allegedly left the property with his wallet and car but did not take his other belongings or cell phone. One of the officers investigating the disappearance noted that Wayt’s decision not to take his belongings struck him as unusual. Police were reportedly in touch with his family in Indiana. What did strike fans as interesting is that Shawn has opted to refer to Wayt as Portwood’s “boyfriend” and not “fiance.”

Just four days before Wayt was reported missing and two days before he actually disappeared, several media outlets reported that the couple was officially engaged. Us Weekly broke the news on June 7 that Wayt popped the question. He allegedly used a family ring to propose within the last two weeks. The report states that Wayt was last seen on the evening of June 9 in Bryson City, North Carolina. Portwood has not publicly mentioned why she and Wayt were in North Carolina. Still, it appears that they may have been vacationing in the area. Bryson City is known for its mountain landscapes. Wayt appears to have gone missing with his vehicle. Jenelle Evans is returning to Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. Ensley Eason won’t be appearing if David Eason has anything to say about it, though. Evans’ estranged husband reportedly will not permit the only child he shares with Evans to appear on screen, but Evans’ other two children are reportedly cleared to appear.

Jenelle Evans is all-in on her return to the Teen Mom franchise, but her young daughter apparently won’t be along for the ride. An insider spoke to the U.S. Sun and revealed that David Eason has refused to sign off on Ensley appearing on the show. The insider claims MTV contacted Eason for permission to film Ensley, and he told them he would not be signing off on her appearance on the series.

Eason and Evans have not yet filed for divorce or agreed on a child custody arrangement. Still, there is apparently an open custody case. Ensley appeared briefly on Teen Mom 2 while Eason and Evans were in a relationship. Eason also appeared on the show but was fired after increasingly menacing behavior. MTV parted ways with Evans in 2019 and only invited her back after she separated from David Eason in February 2024.

If Eason did refuse to allow Ensley to appear on the series, fans are unlikely to hear about it from him anytime soon. Eason spent the early part of his separation airing his grievances about Evans on TikTok. He can no longer talk about her. An order of protection prevents him from speaking about her on social media for six months. Evans would need to return to court to extend the order.

While sources insist Eason has put a stop to Ensley appearing on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Jenelle Evans’ other two children apparently have a green light to appear on the show. According to the source that spoke with the U.S. Son, both Jace Evans and Kaiser will appear in Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. MTV allegedly spoke with both fathers. Lewis seems to be forging a relationship with his teen son now after being mostly absent from his life until recent months. He does not have any legal rights to Jace, though.

Nathan Griffith was actively involved with Kaiser until the last few years. He recently revealed that he has not been in contact with Kaiser and is not in a place to help. Griffith has had a host of legal and medical issues in recent years. According to the insider, Despite his lack of involvement with Kaiser, Griffith was contacted by MTV. On May 3, 2024, she posted a TikTok showing her lipsynching “I Like the Way You Kiss Me” by Artemas. The TikTok then jumps to her in the car and sings the words to the song while holding onto a man’s arm. Jenelle doesn’t reveal the identity of the man beside her.

Fans called her out for her behavior, but she wasn’t having it.

“Girl, it’s OK to be alone for awhile,” a fan commented.

“I’ve been alone for awhile; you just didn’t know,” Jenelle wrote back.

“Girl, you don’t neeeeeed a man,” another fan wrote.

Rumors swirled around Jenelle potentially returning after being seen with Briana DeJesus in Florida. Sources told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup that several cast members are unhappy about Jenelle’s return.

“Only a few cast members were aware of what was happening until that photo came out,” a source told the publication. “Some of the girls are very upset that Jenelle is getting to be on Next Chapter, despite everything that’s happened.”

“Some of the girls probably saw it coming, though,” another source said. “They knew when Jenelle dumped David that MTV would come calling. But I think most of them assumed [Jenelle] would be put on Teen Mom: Family Reunion and not Next Chapter. To have her go right to [Next Chapter] is kind of a slap in the face to some of the other girls.”

Eason replied, “Who?” as if he didn’t care at all about Evans, her career, or their crumbling marriage. While Eason surely has an opinion on the recent developments in his wife’s life, he’s choosing to shade her by proclaiming her irrelevant.

It has been shared extensively on social media since then, and Teen Mom fans certainly have opinions. Several fans have pointed out that Amanda Conner appears to be a Maci Bookout “fangirl” and question her motives in posting the video.

A judge has since ordered Standifer and Edwards to avoid contact. The judge also advised them to avoid each other’s romantic partners. Jenelle Evans is feuding with former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham. Now, Catelynn Lowell is throwing shade at the adoptive parents of her firstborn child. It isn’t the first time drama between Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra and the couple that adopted their daughter has erupted.

Things between Catelynn Lowell and the adoptive parents of Carly, the child she gave birth to when she was still a teen, are apparently not going well. Catelynn took to Instagram on May 9 to complain about the lack of access she has to the child she and her husband, Tyler, gave up for adoption. In a now-expired Instagram story, Catelynn said Brandon and Teresa Davis did not make time for a visit this year. Catelynn called out the couple for claiming they “love” her while refusing to make time for her. She did not explain whether a scheduled visit had been canceled or if they had failed to set up a time to meet.

According to rumors, Jenelle Evans is planning a move to a new state, and a recent Teen Mom: The Next Chapter trailer suggests the move could play out on-screen.

Jenelle Evans is making major moves in her life. Not only has she gained employment with MTV again, but she’s also looking to hop states. According to an insider who spoke with TMZ, Evans is currently in the market for a new house in Florida. The insider claims Evans spent some time in Florida last week touring properties and weighing her options. She is said to be searching for a home in the Central Florida area. The mother of three currently resides in North Carolina. She was in Florida last week with co-star Briana DeJesus. DeJesus’ home base is in Central Florida.

MTV’s recent Teen Mom: The Next Chapter trailer bolstered the report’s credibility. In a trailer dropped to the Teen Mom social media pages, Evans is seen in the final seconds walking down a street. In her voiceover, Evans says that a “fresh start” would be good.

Surely, there is no better way to get a fresh start than to move to a different state. If the trailer and recent reports are any indication, Evans’ storyline in the upcoming season of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter will focus on a potential move from North Carolina to Florida. MTV will likely cover her impending divorce, as well.

Can Jenelle Evans really make a big move right now?

While Evans is rumored to be searching for a home close to Briana DeJesus’ Kissimmee-area home, some followers wonder if she can really pick up and move so quickly. Evans and Eason have not started divorce proceedings, but presumably, he’ll want at least some custody of the child he shares with Evans once the process is underway. If Eason wants to fight it, he could prevent Evans from taking their shared child, Ensley Eason, out of state. Eason is likely the only father who would try to prevent Evans from moving states.

Evans shares her other two children with different former partners. She shares her eldest child, Jace Evans, with her high school boyfriend, Andrew Lewis. Lewis has shown up in recent months to connect with Jace. Still, it is the first time he’s had any relationship with him. He does not have a custody arrangement in place. Nathan Griffith is the father of Evans’ second child, Kaiser Griffith. Griffith was initially involved with his son, but he has not had contact with him in some time. Griffith has had a host of legal and health troubles to contend with in recent months. It is unlikely he would fight a move.
