Christine Brown is poking fun at a notorious incident involving her ex-husband Kody Brown.

The Sister Wives star recently took to social media to joke about the time she disgusted Kody by eating gas station nachos, an incident he discussed in the family’s memoir, Becoming Sister Wives.

In the July 1 Instagram update, Christine recalled the moment when she turned Kody off with her love of nachos. The two were dating at the time, but when Kody watched his future wife scarf down a tray of the gas station snack while on a road trip, he began to question his attraction to her.

“So, I don’t know if you’ve read our book or not, but in it, Kody talk about how I was eating nachos and it really, really grossed him out,” she said in a video shared with her followers. “This is the gas station where I got the nachos at,” she added as she showed viewers the convenience store in question.

This time, Christine was accompanied not by Kody but by her new husband David Wooley. David isn’t judging his wife for her enthusiasm for the iconic snack.

“He likes the way I eat my nachos,” Christine captioned a post, which included a video of the pair enjoying the nachos together in their car.

“We are at the gas station where I at nachos, infamously, years ago,” she said.

“I like nachos in the morning,” David added.

‘Sister Wives’ star Kody Brown was repulsed by Christine eating nachos

David’s reaction to Christine’s enthusiasm for nachos is in stark contrast to Kody’s response to seeing her eat the snack years ago.

As Kody recalled in Becoming Sister Wives, he and Christine were on a road trip together early in their relationship. At the time, he thought she “was the cutest girl in the world, although she was a little chubby.”

But Kody’s opinion began to change when they stopped to grab something to eat.

“Christine went into the Quickie Mart and bought herself what seemed like the largest portion of chili chees nachos that I’d ever seen,” he wrote. “The sight of those nachos turned my stomach. She must have been starving because she was eating so quickly, and there was chili sauce and nacho cheese everywhere.”

“Looking back, I hate myself for the thoughts I had at that moment, but the sights of this chubby girl in my car devouring chili cheese nachos for breakfast put the brakes on our relationship,” he added.

Christine had no idea that her choice of a snack had changed Kody’s opinion of her.

“Of course, I had no idea that I’d grossed Kody out with my nachos,” she shared in Becoming Sister Wives. “I was an overweight kid who liked junk food a little too much. And of all the junk food in the world, chili cheese nachos were my favorite.”

While Kody and Christine went on to marry and have six children together, his lack of attraction to her was an issue in their marriage. In November 2021, the pair announced that they had ended their relationship after more than 25 years together. Christine married David in October 2023.

Who is at the center of every storyline of ‘Sister Wives’?

Throughout 18 seasons of TLC’s Sister Wives, there is one person at the center of every storyline: Kody Brown. From the get-go, the Sister Wives story was based around Kody and his role as the Brown family patriarch. Kody’s decisions changed the scope of the Brown family from the beginning and continue to do so to this day.

Kody chose to bring Robyn Brown into a family that already included his wives, Meri, Janelle, and Christine. He then chose for his family to flee Utah for Las Vegas and again, to Flagstaff, Arizona.

Kody ignored Meri so much that she was forced to seek companionship outside their marriage. He distanced himself from Christine and Janelle in favor of Robyn, hurting the core of their marriages.

He didn’t take care of his children in the way a parent should, leaving the bulk of the parenting to their mothers. Most of all, Kody created a world where he could do and say whatever he wanted, and his wives deferred to whatever he wished until they didn’t.

Kody Brown’s attributes make him the least appealing man on reality TV

For the most part, Kody Brown appears to have convinced himself that his wives had all the power in their marriages. He regularly told TLC’s cameras the women were free to leave, but when Christine exercised that option, he fought tooth and nail to keep her in line with their family.

For at least five years, the Kody of seasons past drastically differs from the goofy, slightly sweet man depicted in Sister Wives‘ early seasons. The series, once about normalizing polygamy, is now Kody versus his family and this helps to make him the least appealing man on reality TV.

Three of Kody’s four wives left their spiritual marriages in two years. First was Christine, then Janelle Brown, and then Meri Brown.

Many of Kody’s adult children have spoken out against their father. These Brown family members include Gwendlyn Brown, Paedon Brown, and Mykelti Brown. Many of these relationships remain strained to this day.

Kody speaks to his wives; he tells the world he wouldn’t care if Meri left him for someone else years before she did. He called Janelle “lazy” and Christine a “s*** sister wife.”

However, it’s rare that any of these women fought back. Most times, they allow Kody to react however he wishes but vent their true feelings the cameras in their TLC confessionals.

Kody Brown’s now a monogamist, so what’s next for ‘Sister Wives’ season 19?

Sister Wives season 19 will debut on TLC sometime later this summer. However, as the series has diverted so far from its original premise, is the show still centered around Kody Brown and any semblance of plural marriage?

Yes, the show is still centered around Kody Brown, even though he is now a monogamist. Meri, Janelle, and Christine have left him, leaving his legal wife, Robyn, as his sole partner.

Throughout this season, Kody will be front and center as he navigates his relationships with his wives of decades. However, how Kody will handle these massive changes remains to be seen.

He will also be prominently featured as he navigates his relationships with his children. Thus, it is unlikely that the tragedy surrounding the death of his son, Garrison Brown, will be featured this season.

Season 18’s finale was filmed around late 2022 or early 2023. Therefore, the series has a year’s worth of catching up before they near Garrison Brown’s death timeline.

However, as Kody Brown pulled further away from his three wives and their children and toward his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, she became the most disliked member of the Brown family — but it’s not the main reason she’s the most unlikable TLC reality star.

Robyn Brown came into the family expecting everything, giving nothing

Upon entering into Kody Brown’s family in 2010, Robyn Brown brought three children and a ton of emotional and monetary baggage to the table. For the already struggling Browns, Robyn and the kids were four more mouths to feed and an assimilation to contend with.

Robyn wanted a community of sister wives to rely on to grow relationships. However, she pushed them away at every turn.

She looked outside the family for childcare and offered nothing through monetary contributions. Robyn brought enormous debt into the marriage. She reportedly owed over $32,000 in store credit cards, doing nothing to offset it.

Robyn tried to generate a vanity jewelry business, but it was a complete loss and a waste of family resources. She attempted to explain away her role in the family and how her emotional contributions were as valuable as any financial resources she could bring to the table.

The one reason she was most unlikable was that she played the dual role of martyr and victim. She felt she was the Brown family scapegoat and believed her faith and love for the family allowed her to rise above the drama.

Robyn did do one thing the other wives didn’t: she was Kody’s ride-or-die

Kody Brown is a man who values being put on a pedestal as the head of his house. In the world of polygamy, per Sister Wives, it appears the wives rule the roost in their homes when the husband is with another wife.

Despite his assertions, Kody wasn’t equal in his time with his wives when the family moved from Utah to Las Vegas. However, Robyn always defended Kody in a way his other wives didn’t.

She acted like his ride-or-die and allowed him to rule the roost at home. The other wives didn’t do this, as they were used to caring for themselves when Kody wasn’t there.

According to Sister Wives viewers, Robyn appears at the top of the heap on their unlikability scale, even above Kody Brown. In a Reddit post, their comments paint a not-so-rosy picture of the TLC star.

“She’s an interesting study because there’s nothing likable about her if you didn’t buy her sweet, martyr act, and I think a lot of us didn’t,” wrote one viewer. “She literally brought nothing to the table for the Browns and left her bills on their kitchen counter to get paid.”

“Robyn stole resources, time, energy, and love from Kody and wrecked the family. Heck, she got a larger portion of Coyote Pass and a nanny,” they continued.

Sister Wives stars Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown have historically pulled the wool over viewers’ eyes. The series presented their clan as a cohesive polygamist union. But the family’s happiness appeared to be faked for the cameras as far back as their days in Lehi, Utah.

Sister Wives star Kody Brown presented his family as a loving, functioning unit. The Brown family, which at that time included Kody and wives Meri, Janelle, and Christine, debuted in 2010 ahead of the introduction of a fourth wife, Robyn, to their clan.

However, looking back at the family through the lens of time, there were plenty of cracks in the marriages between Kody, Meri, Janelle, and Christine that were glossed over for television. The issues between the family members only presented themselves publicly once TLC’s cameras were turned on.

Tensions were high even before Robyn Brown officially joined the family. Two instances stood out to viewers in particular.

One moment that showed there were issues with a fourth wife joining the family came after Kody Brown revealed he picked Robyn’s wedding dress. Christine was upset that Kody never appeared interested in their wedding.

“I think it was pretty much impossible for [Meri, Janelle, and Christine] to call out Robyn. Knowing Kody will not only punish them for being bad sister wives, but he’d also punish their children in tandem,” wrote one viewer.

They continued, “Kody was never cut out to be a husband or father. Because he never wanted to put the effort into those relationships to have a functioning family. He wanted the women to do everything while he took credit for all their hard work, while acting like a teenage boy with his first crush with Robyn.”

Kody became so fixated on his newfound television fame, the money that came with it, and his new wife that the wives who remained with him the longest fell out of favor. Their marriages never really recovered as their personal lives played out on television.

Kody decided to take Robyn on a 10-day honeymoon shortly after Christine gave birth to their sixth and final child. During that same time, Christine was tending to a newborn, her own five children and Janelle and Meri’s kids. Therefore, Kody’s decision to bend to his new wife’s desires to the detriment of his other wives set the stage for resentment that would ultimately break his family.

As the seasons rolled on, there were other instances where inequality between the women showed Kody in an unfavorable light. He continued to play each woman against each other, and as a result, each marriage suffered in kind.

Today, Kody and Robyn Brown remain in a monogamous relationship. He is no longer spiritually married to Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown.

However, the biggest inequity was how he unfairly divided the family’s funds to benefit Robyn above all others.

Robyn Brown shockingly revealed her views on money in a confessional for an early season of Sister Wives. In a Reddit post, a viewer uploaded a telling clip filmed just ahead of the family’s Flagstaff, Arizona move.

Robyn said in Season 13, episode 6 of the series that money should be used as a tool for a better quality of life. She explained, “Kody and I are different in the way we look at money. He talks a lot about saving money and not spending money. I think saving is good.”

She carefully added the following comment. “But I also think that quality of living is important. If Flagstaff could improve our quality of living then it would be worth the money to me.”

Subsequently, Robyn Brown always benefitted from the shared family bank account. She and Kody dipped into it regularly for their own personal use it appeared, while Kody’s other wives struggled to make it on their own.

This was evident when the couple purchased expensive jewelry, art, and other objects on display in their massive Flagstaff, AZ home, while Janelle lived in a rental apartment and their Coyote Pass property went unpaid for years. “Improve their quality of living? They each lived in massive homes in Vegas! What was to improve?” wrote one follower.

“They should have been talking about earning money. She would view spending differently if she had to actually earn it,” shared a second viewer.

“Kody was already pretty reckless with money before Robyn joined the family. They talked about how Janelle and Christine had a strict budget for necessities but didn’t have money for extras (like braces were an example of extras) and if kids needed stuff they had to wait,” a third Sister Wives fan explained.

A fourth fan had this point of view. “This is a grown woman literally saying that having what you want (quality of living lmao) is more important than saving money. No forethought for retirement or emergencies or paying for her kids’ education and weddings. And they were making good money at this point. Ben Brown, Kody Brown’s nephew, recently took to social media to share his insights, and his observation about the pilot has fans of the series cackling.

He laughed as he told fans that despite only watching the pilot, he already thinks the show is about a polygamist man trying to introduce his “mistress” into the family. He joked that while his uncle’s three original wives were busy caring for 12 kids, Kody traveled 4 hours to spend time with his “mistress,” who later became his fourth wife, Robyn Brown. It is unclear if Gwendlyn Brown will continue with her videos at a later time. Mykelti Padron, Christine and Kody’s second oldest daughter, also creates content about her family and her life on Patreon. The rest of Kody’s children have opted for more private lives.

Sister Wives star Robyn Brown has anointed herself the Kody Brown whisperer. She has given herself a position of importance within the Brown family and made herself central in Kody’s world. However, in doing so, she became a giant wall separating Kody from his family.

Robyn Brown has tried, for many years, to explain Kody Brown’s thought process to his fellow family members and the series’ viewers. She has become his spokesperson and, reportedly, was the one person who knew him best.

However, she appears only to cause more strife than family unity. Robyn has spent season after season speaking about how she is the only person who understands Kody and, therefore, must translate his wishes.

Somehow, Robyn convinced Meri, Christine, and Janelle Brown that could help them understand their own husband. Why Kody’s three previous wives, who had decades of marriage with him, allowed Robyn to position herself in that manner is uncertain.

But, position herself she did, and Kody, in turn, deferred to Robyn for all of his decisions—even those concerning his other wives. Thus, she created a monster.

Therefore, she became a giant wall that separated Kody from his three other wives and their children. It was impossible for anyone to reach Kody without Robyn’s interference.

Fans are fed up with how Robyn Brown behaves

In a Reddit post, fans spoke out about how Robyn Brown has historically behaved within the Brown family. They appeared frustrated that she speaks for Kody Brown when he remains quite capable of taking care of his own matters.

“I’m pretty sure after 30 odd years of marriage they all ‘spoke Kody,'” said one Redditor. “They didn’t suddenly have a new relationship with him because now they could be told what he was thinking. He’s pretty vocal about that and has no filter, so if it crosses that Kody brain, it comes out the Kody mouth.”

It continued, “That Robyn is explaining to him what is being said. I also cringe because he may be many things, but he is foolish and inarticulate, isn’t he? So this whole line of ‘speak Kody’ is just nonsense.”

Another fan said, “There were many times Robyn would stop Kody in mid-sentence to tell him he needs to be ‘in your right mind’ when she knew he was going to say something that did not favor her or her kids. One example is when they were all at the property and swam in the ‘pond.’ Kody was going to say something, and Robyn jumped, telling Kody he needed to eat first before he made any decisions.”

During the season 18 tell-all for Sister Wives, Christine and Janelle Brown didn’t mince about Robyn Brown’s interference in their relationships with Kody. They were downright ticked off over Robyn’s behavior.

“I met him when I was 18. I’ve known Kody for a long time, and I can actually read Kody pretty well. And I can speak Kody well, too,” said Christine.

Janelle agreed with Christine’s assessment of the situation. She added, “Well, I don’t know if I really need someone to translate for me. We’ve been married for a long time. We did OK without you.”

The Brown family can never seem to stay in one place. Sister Wives fans have watched the massive, unconventional group move several times, both as a family and individually. Apparently, there is one more move in the works. Mykelti Padron, the daughter of Christine Brown and Kody Brown, plans to move states. Sister Wives fans think she is moving to remain on TV.

Mykelti Padron announces that she’s moving to North Carolina

It’s time for the Brown family to start packing again. In a recent YouTube video, Mykelti announced she is moving her family from Utah to North Carolina in the coming months. She and her husband, Tony Padron, have already started the process of selling their home, although they have yet to offer a timeline for the move.

The move will take Tony and Mykelti within driving distance of Maddie and Caleb Brush. Maddie, the daughter of Janelle Brown and Kody Brown, is the only other Brown offspring with young children. While Mykelti says she is not moving “specifically” to be close to Maddie, it’s a benefit. Fans think it’s more than a coincidence, though.

Maddie and Mykelti both have three children. Maddie welcomed her first son, Axel, in 2017. Her daughters, Evangeline and Josephine, followed in 2019 and 2023. Mykelti and Tony welcomed their first child, Avalon Padron, in 2021. Twins Archer and Ace Padron joined the family in November 2023.

One Reddit user suggested Mykelti might be moving close to Maddie Brush for a Sister Wives spinoff. TLC has made no spinoff announcements.

While Sister Wives fans theorize that Mykelti and Tony are planning the big move to chase a reality TV career, they may be simply moving for the sake of moving. Mykelti appears to have a bit of wanderlust, just like her father, Kody Brown. The upcoming move will be the couple’s second move in three years.

Mykelti and Tony initially settled in St. George, Utah, where Tony has family. In 2021, they announced their move to Lehi, Utah, where Mykelti spent time as a child. They were in good company in the area, too. Christine Brown and David Woolley settled not far from the couple’s home. Aspyn Thompson and her husband, Mitch Thompson, also reside locally, as does Ysabel Brown.

Why did Maddie and Caleb Brush move to North Carolina?

Maddie Brush moved to North Carolina in 2016 so her husband, Caleb Brush, could pursue a career opportunity. He works as an elevator mechanic. While the duo seems to have set down roots on the East Coast, Maddie is still deciding if she wants to stay long-term. According to Yahoo!, Maddie said she didn’t think North Carolina would be her forever home in 2023. According to the publication, Maddie said both she and Caleb miss the snow and the mountains and would likely move again unless something really compelling kept them in North Carolina.

Caleb was raised in Wyoming, and Maddie spent most of her childhood in Utah before the Brown family moved to Las Vegas when she was a teen. They don’t appear to have any family in North Carolina, but it has become a destination for Brown family vacations in recent years. Maddie has yet to comment on Mykelti’s big plans to move.

TLC has not officially announced Season 19 of Sister Wives just yet, but the Brown family has already revealed that it has been filmed. While fans were unsure if the season would ever see the light of day following Garrison Brown’s death, Mykelti Padron revealed that the network is going forward with it. She even shared a general release date with fans.

TLC hasn’t announced a new season of Sister Wives yet, nor has the network announced an official release date for season 19. That’s not uncommon, though. The network generally only announces new seasons of their shows once the premiere is just weeks away. Apparently, they don’t even need to make an announcement this time around. One Brown family member is happy to talk about it.

According to Reddit users, Mykelti Padron shared that season 19 of the Brown family’s reality TV show will premiere in late August or early September. Padron shared the information in a recently uploaded Patreon video. Season 18 of the series premiered in late August 2023. While Sister Wives seasons don’t have a set number of episodes, the last two seasons contained 14. The upcoming season will likely include the same number of episodes and should wrap up around December or January.

What topics will be covered in the upcoming season?

Mykelti also delved into what fans can expect from the upcoming season. While the Brown family was plunged into mourning earlier this year when Garrison Brown died by suicide, it doesn’t sound like the current season will include the period around Garrison’s death.

If it follows the same timeline, season 19 footage should wrap up around November 2023, a month after Christine and David married in a filmed ceremony. Their wedding aired as a separate Sister Wives special in January. Garrison died in March 2024.
